My point was for the lights and everything else. The horn is used for very short duration so no worries there. It is common for the wire from the alternator to show signs of overheating. Those two small wires can not take the 90 amps that alternator can produce.

Obviously, its great to upgrade this wire to allow faster charging of the
battery---especially important for a dual battery setup.
But is it really necessary for getting more power to devices like the
horn? (I would expect the horn to work fine with the car off, after all.)
