of note..
the 1.6 TD injection pump installed on Quantum cars with Auto trans..
has a mechanical shut-off lever on it.

I have one of those pumps, complete, and rebuildable.
for sale.
fwiw....i've seen a few VW diesel turbo failures ...but no run-aways that I
know of.
