Kendra are you a member of the well established 'Pittsburgh Vanagon club' (PVC) yet?
If not that's where I'd start. Our network of experienced bus pilots should be able to help, we now have several members with air cooled vans. I will also suggest the how to keep your volkswagen alive book.
