I guess the big question for me is how far does one have to go to trick the ECU or modify it via software to get the engine to run properly. Having taken a stab at fabricating, if the dimensions are acceptable, making brackets etc. to fit the engine is not rocket surgery. (says he who is still a newb at that stuff)

I should get off my butt and measure from crank OC to oil pan. That may be one reason why Chris or anyone else hasn't bothered stuffing this engine into a Vanagon.
