A few years back, Airstream marketed a stripped down rig similar to the Cricket for big bucks, think it failed in the marketplace. Fancy exterior with '40's ambulance accommodations for $20,000? I don't think so. If I was in the rig for a towalong, I'd opt for a vintage Avion or Airstream. Friends of ours from the VW world have owned a '79 23' Avion for about 3 years. Vintage Airstreams, like our buses have great "cool" factor, all the creature comforts, smaller units are easy to tow, there's plenty of project work, (we all know how _that_ goes) and you can have a ball with it in groups of a feather, or on your own.
