The later brakes also have a much improved pad life which is probably the main reason for the change. I scored these assemblies complete with new parts at a local junkyard. The old brakes needed pads and, ball joints were shot, and one wheel bearing was noisy. As for performance with late model brakes, pads are larger which equals more friction. Single piston travels twice as far, so no real gain there, but it does result in reduced seal friction. It amounts to an incremental improvement in braking, but nothing earth shattering. Chris.
