Do not confuse a local pipeline hub / distribution center with a refinery. A refinery has all the complex chemical mojo happening, while pipeline hubs are really just a collection of holding tanks and valves. The basic "gasoline" component is pumped out to a hub, where it is then "branded", aka has its specific to a proprietary name / label additives put in. There are thousands of hubs, but VERY FEW gasoline refineres in the WORLD. That's part os the reason gasoline is one of America's biggest cash exports...
