No confusion here.  A list of "refineries" is widely available on the
internet.  There ARE over 100 in the USA.

Do not confuse a local pipeline hub / distribution center with a refinery. A


refinery has all the complex chemical mojo happening, while pipeline hubs
are 
really just a collection of holding tanks and valves. The basic "gasoline" 
component is pumped out to a hub, where it is then "branded", aka has its 
specific to a proprietary  name / label additives put in. There are
thousands of 
hubs, but VERY FEW gasoline refineres in the WORLD. That's part os the
reason 
gasoline is one of America's biggest cash exports...

Actually, there are over a hundred oil refineries in the USA with many being
in the southern US.  Unfortunately, all of them are quite old.
