I have been using Techron for decades as part of every 2 year smog test preparation. I use 1/2 bottle to 1/4 tank gas. Drive hard for 60 miles, change oil, ready for smog test.

Of course I also change the plugs, cap, rotor and make sure the O2 sensor voltage is cycling properly. No chance of passing Cali tests without a working O2.

For many years when my wife and I both drove BMW cars the BMW dealers sold Techron from stacks right at the parts and service counters. For certain BMW models it was touted as essential for reducing deposits on the valves of the engine unless you always ran Chevron Premium fuel.
