Tightening the spring leans out the mixture. Keep in mind you really are not adjusting but tampering. There won't be any long term difference unless you go so far out the O2 sensor circuit can't compensate. Then if you do realize any fuel savings you need to put that money towards the burned pistons and valves that will come later. If your running rich something else is wrong. If its running right leave the AFM alone.

I don't remember this was mentioned in this century.

How to adjust it for more or for less consumption. Which direction would do which. I can't find instruction in the Bentley. Maybe many of the members would like to know this.
