Volks,

Sorry to clog your inboxes with yet another story about outstanding customer service from Daryl of AA Transaxle, but it just has to be done :)

Further apologies to those who where involved or know of these recent events.

Like many others, Maggie & I have been looking forward to attending Buses by the Bridge 2012 in Lake Havasu City, AZ, for months.

On Friday 12/30 I left Oklahoma heading towards BBB 2012 with a few planned detours first.

About 580 miles later, a bit East of Albuquerque, the roadhaus's tranny locked up in 4th gear.

We all know that sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when a hugely anticipated trip is stalled on the side of the road.

The plan had been to pick up Maggie at the Las Vegas airport on Saturday 1/7 and join several friends gathering at the Valley of Fire State Park, just north of Vegas, that night.

To explore that area and a few others and head to Havasu for BBB on Thursday 1/11.

But there I am on the side of I-40 feeling pretty down.

In a Hail Mary move I place a call to Daryl, just caught him as he was leaving the shop.

Remember .. this is Friday night of New Years Holiday weekend.

After explaining the situation, Daryl calmly says and I quote " Gotcha covered. You WILL be there.. that’s an order and I will do whatever is in my power to make it so"

Really, I say, yup he replies.

The sick feeling is suddenly gone as Darryl explains that he has an extra Syncro core and will begin the rebuild the next day.

And to just let him know where to ship it for the R&R.

Long Story Short ... I had a new transaxle in my hands a couple of days later, two days for the install in Santa Fe (thks to Thom at European AutoWerks) and I was on my way again.

Picked up Maggie at the Vegas airport on Saturday and joined our friends as planned.

Absolutely amazing ... thanks to Daryl.

BTW .. complete trip report to follow soon.

Definition of "Soon" .. within the next 30 days :)
