Early on, my new heat control valve started leaking. I recall reading that there may have been a bad batch made. But I think that run was a while ago. Regardless maybe some vendors have NOS of that run.

IIRC it was suggested that pre purchase, one could plug one end and blow on the other to see if the new valve was ok.

FWIW, it's possible my valve leaked at the seam. Image of valve , arrow pointing to where drip was:
