Of course. Common sense prevails at all times. I live in the middle of bear country where city folk can be fined if they put their garbage out the day before pickup. I'm talking about "civilized" camping. But you are absolutely right to hand out this caution to those who are not as experienced with bears. I once watched a bear peel open an old Coleman metal cooler like a sardine can. It was pretty impressive. Courtney
