Hi, just wanting to make sure I'm doing this right. The two-piece ball that fits into the socket at the base of the shifter was broken on my donor van, so I had to put the thing back together having never seen it correctly assembled. Here is a picture to illustrate my question: I just want to make sure that the base of the spring goes against the top part of that white plastic piece, meaning that when assembled the spring goes from the top of the white plastic wrapped around the shaft to the bottom of the collar which will be where the hole for the set screw is, currently about three turns of the spring from the top of the white piece. The reason I'm asking is that those white plastic "legs" that go around the shaft don't seem all that substantial, and I just wanted to check that I didn't miss anything. Thanks! mike |
