I changed the slave cyl on my '84 a few weeks back. Did it all from the top, get the line loose (break the torque) first. I used a short 13mm wrench to hold the rear bolt when I took the nut off & two wrenches on the fwd bolt (as I recall). Getting the rear bolt to stay in the bracket as I put the new cyl on was a challenge, I used a length of safety wire to hold it until I got the nut started, then pulled the wire. I had to (re) loosen both the bolts get the cyl lined up so the solid fluid line would start.

Gravity bleeding was great for changing the fluid but we had to pressure bleed (the old pump pump pump hold & squirt) it to get a good pedal. All in all not too bad.

A long magnet was used to pick up the dropped wrench, ratchet, bolt & nut (more than once)
