Well, I needed a tail pipe. What seems more natural than going to a muffler shop, right? So, my friendly local muffler shop put my van on a lift, said, "yep, you need a tail pipe. it'll be $xx.xx." Seemed a reasonable price, so I said go ahead, and went across the street for breakfast. When I cam back, the thing was done. Except the pipe was welded to the muffler, the clamp was gone. I asked where it was, and was told it was in the scrap barrel. Even as I asked, a scrap collector was driving away in a giant truck. So, the tail pipe was welded to the muffler. A couple years later, I need a muffler .the pipe appears solid, but I'll have to buy a new pipe and clamp, as well as muffler. But, like I said, friendly local muffler shop. When I paid the bill, the nice lady in the office gave me a half pint of honey from her bees. It was good honey, too, and I used it on pancakes on my very next camping outing. mcneely > > Thanks, > Tony -- David McNeely |
