Or you can Google Jet-Hot Coating and see what turns up. Also, calling the local (to me in Salt Lake) shop that did mine and inquiring about their process of this, and seeing if there is a shop closer. Otherwise, just ship the system to Powder Extreme Coatings. http://www.powderextremecoatings.com/ They coat the inside of the system with a different coating than the outside due to the different "wear" characteristics of the 2 environments. Black is the preferred color as it traps 70% more heat, as measured from the outside, as compared to grey or white, and there are other color choices. It may be that the SS systems for the 2.1 engine will last a very long time, but I don't have that engine and have found out that the SS systems for the 2.2, 2.5 and 3.0 Subaru engines, do not last as they crack badly after 2-3 years of use. I didn't have them coat the muffler but have the newer iteration made from aluminized-steel, which wear extremely well. Mine has over 25K miles and almost 2 years service, and no indication of any rust or metal fade. Some folks have had the muffler coated and the shop (PEC-Kevin, owner) does this so talk to Kevin about that. Just my experience ….. YMMV Bob |
