Ever read George Crile's 2003 book "Charlie Wilson's War"? A good story and a lot of information on the side, some of it to do with Iran, not flattering but what the heck. Not a speck of Vanagon in it. (Better than the movie).

I've been reading that it's the speculators driving up the cost of gas (yes war fears from the mid-east will increase the speculation) at a time when there is a glut of gasoline here in the US. http://www.alaskadispatch.com/article/would-reducing-us-fuel-exports-stop-gas-prices-spiking If you put "oil stored in tankers today" in the search block of http://www.news.google.com/ you can find more questions to ask. Do you know anyone who has an oil well & gets a royalty? Ask them what their crude is worth to the buyers, last I heard they didn't get the price 'they' are guessing it will be in 3 months <g>, we are just paying that price.

The 'why' is only important in the hopes we can get the rise to stop, the fact that it has been going up every day (for a week??) has to be dealt with. I just put $42.82 in my VW bus... the world has changed since 1973 when I swore that if it went above 50 cents I was going to stop driving .. or was it 75 cents? Maybe a dollar ... Today I'm happy not to see a hand lettered "No Gas" sign & have enough cash to buy the gas to fill my tank.

Oh well, back to what ever it was I'm doing today besides the twin grandsons 10th birthday.
