Does this washer fit over the axle? Sometimes those are used to take up slack and prevent the CV joint from sliding on the axle splines.

Hello All, Got the last of the old bolts out and the axle is off, new CV joints ready to go on...kit has a dished washer, and I can't remember what it is for-one didn't come off with the old joints. I checked Bentley, too, and I don't see it shown there either. This is a dished washer, NOT the circlip I am talking about. TIA, Jeff

FWIW, using my old boots, which look good-been burned before by the 6 month boots that come in these kits.
