Keep in mind that if fuel is getting out then road dirt-rain etc. is getting in. This is a very good way to get a rusty messy tank. As for maintenance tasks does anyone consider pressure testing the fuel tank vapor recovery system? A good way to avoid fuel related surprises. Especially important for those that store their vans in a garage.

Finished up replacing the CV joints on the left axle today on my '85 Weekender, but <sigh> we know as Vanagon owners we're never really done...after filling up Wednesday I noticed gas dripping from under the center of the van. Looks like fuel tank reseal is next on the list! (Especially with the cost of gas now, who wants it dripping out on the ground?)
