similar experience with UPS and a bicycle, packed in a bicycle shipping box.

and don't ever have anything that can be damaged by freezing up north in the winter. Fed Ex kept a box of fruit I had sent to Spokane overnight in a truck in -18 F weather. they were supposed to guarantee safe arrival. when we started checking we found out what had happened, but the first clerk we dealt with claimed, "Oh, all our trucks are heated and never freeze." Well, left overnight they will. the shipper replaced the fruit, but Fed Ex never reimbursed her.

But I won't ship anything Fed Ex after I sent a set of 1700 P&C's to a guy years ago and Fed Ex literally destroyed the box and broke the fins on every cylinder-then said I hadn't packed them properly. They eventually did pay for the P&C's, but it was a miserable experience I will never forget. Jeff Stewart ----- Original Message -----
