So here I am at the Daytona 500 standing in the rain waiting for the sun.

Anyway, the fuel should be tight and hold the vapor pressure to prevent the fuel from polluting the air. This also helps the fuel last longer. If you store the can in a closed space like a garage the leaking fumes can now create a fire hazard. If you're garage is attached to your house and your boiler or furnace is in the basement you could have a real problem.
