Hello list,

So I bought what I thought was a good muffler from a big box supplier
(the geeks). (shame on me) for my 85 vanagon gl

Last week I noticed the tail pipe rusting away. Crud on the grown like
the left over skin of a snake. Easy enough I thought....I'll replace
the 3 bolts and the tail pipe and be done.

Yesterday after returning from the airport I notice that the tail pipe
was not there anymore.... WTH??  Looking closer the 3 bolt flange was
not there either. Apparently it rusted away and fell off with the tail
pipe.

Anyone had this happen to them before and what did you do about a tail pipe?
I still have an inner nub where the 3 bolt flange would have been
welded to the muffler.
