just another option here;
As this system is Always a pain sooner or later ;o)
This reminds me of the old saying "dont throw good money after bad" ...
And brings the question to my mind:
Would we be better off "re-inventing the wheel"
and just installing "Manual" cranks?
They  have worked pretty much flawlessly for about a hundred years!
just a thought...  ;o)

although, I'd have to admit that, over time,
my crankin' motor has slowed down some as well  ;o)
