No, I used to do the same thing with old Mercedes when I worked on them.

This doesn't help the person looking for "that one relay" but you need to understand that in most cases if someone does not grab the small parts they will be crushed along with the rest of the car. At least if someone is pulling the small parts they will probably be re-used somewhere.

You also need to consider the time factor. If I'm pulling parts from a yard, pulling other items I will probably need is just a smarter use of my time.

I reached the point where I was buying complete junk cars, stripping parts and then selling the shell for about $150.00. There just weren't any 70's Mercedes left in the area.

I'm sure all of you are facing the same problems with Vanagon parts. The bodies get so old that they are worth more to the yard in steel than in parts and then they crush them.

If I find one I take everything I can on that day, then return until it's all gone. I give most of it away......SOB? Hmmmm Miguel ----- No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 10.0.1382 / Virus Database: 2113/4837 - Release Date: 02/28/12
