You'll get quicker service if you send mod requests (as requested) directly to Ben and me rather than through the list. Even if seventeen spams came through the list (which they didn't; you were perhaps one of the addressees of the one that did come through the list) they'll get read at the same time as your request for them to stop unless you mail both the mods directly. I don't know how Ben is set up but in my case that goes to the inbox instead of the list mailbox, and I read my inbox more often than the list.
