If you actually measure that 27 X 8.50 you will find that it is really close to 26.5 inch, same as a 215/70-14. 27.8" is beginning to push the limits for the stock driveline and brakes.

"27.8" diameter " sounds suspiciously like to the tire size 27 X 8.50 R14 LT .. which is a GREAT 14 inch vanagon tire size.

speedometer ..who watches that all the time ? I watch the tach more.

Most members of these lists know about vanagon tire load requirements.. but all tires stores sure do not !
