From my point of view there are advantages from both types. It really depends on you needs. I kind of liked the idea of having a removable kitchenette/fridge which was featured in on of the former posts for a newer vehicle. But I do enjoy my Westy. I too have toyed with the idea of getting away with a weekender. But the money trade-off always trumps any of my ideas.
