Subject: Re: Full Westy vs Weekender

I have a weekender after a full Westy and I too miss the sink. We tend to camp with friends so cooking in the van isolates us and there is just plain more room to cook outside. Also, because we are with friends, when we drive home from a trip, we might pick up an extra kid or two- so the weekender or tin top wins out here.

I think for 1or 2 people on the move, the full Westy is very nice. With a family of 4 staying put for a long weekend, I prefer the weekender. If I lived where the weather was often bad, then the option of cooking in the van would appeal to me more and hence the full Westy might be preferred here - but cooking under an awning might be preferred by others.

One neat weekender trick is putting a board ( we use the upper bunk bed extender) front to back from the removable fridge to the rear seat and seating 4 at the table for lunch on the road.

I like'em both, even tin-tops can be fine campers for 2. John
