Was that Bajia de Magdalena?

What a perfect winter Westy place to Venture to! How are the roads in Baja now for us 2WD 'ers? I just remember in 1988 my last drive there those vado peligroso' (ford or dip in the middle of the road) named the Ford truck I was driving Vado after that... And also the crazy bus drivers drifting around corners at you on the narrow no shoulder roads... I know our Westy 'Rock on' can handle this, but just wondering if I can... Is it getting busy now? 1988 there was so few people there everywhere...I remember driving 5 miles off the highway toward the Sea of Cortez near Bajia de Los Angeles (LA Bay) and we had to drive past these Folks in their motor home, so we stopped to ask them if they'd mind, turns out they were from 50 miles from home base here in Gibsons and of course they knew my Uncle! Sounds like a worthy winter venture for the near future...

As mentioned here in January, last week I led a small band of VW vans down to Baja to the whale calving lagoon during that very special time. The whale counts were up again this year and we got real close to many whales. A participating list member put together this great video of our close whale encounters. The best parts are in the second half but the whole thing is fun. Thanks for the video James.
