Good luck,
I'd say allow about $ 2,000 a year for repairs.
and ..
if you work on it yourself..
you'll see they are a nightmare.
I have not heard of anyone removing a radiator or transmission from a NB ..
but if you do ..
the professional auto tech trade magazine articles I've read say you
need to remove the Front Clip to get those items out of the car..
that means the front fenders and the front body except for the hood.
Like it's considerably more labor intensive over what would be normal.
they are brilliantly cute in my opinion, probably safe..
but they 'like money' ..............betcha.
I believe the bodies are made in mexico fwiw.
like a 'fine new car' ..but not such a great older car is my guess.
If vanagons were as hard to work on as NB's we wouldn't be loving them
and doing all that we do to them these days I suspect.
I can't imagine many 25 year old NB's being around a lot.
