I have not experienced a clogged cat myself, but that is a common diagnosis for losing power.  Since the muffler is after the cat in the exhaust system what noise you do hear may be considerably less than would be heard if the cat were not clogged. Since you need to yank that muffler anyway (when you get the time, of course), it should be easy to look into the end of the cat to determine if the honeycomb structure is broken up or out of place  Others may chime in with better troubleshooting than this.   Stephen

Stephen, thanks.

I had not considered the cat. I do have a ruptured muffler and simply haven't had the time to address so have been running it as is thought it's a bit loud. Does the cat play into that?
