For about 5 years I ran my 1.9 with a different ratio, 1/4 sometimes 1/3 of a quart of Lucas to each oil change. Had good compression on that engine, which had never been cracked open, all the way to about 250,000 miles when I switched it out for a suby 2.2 ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Duvernay <richard.duvernay@SBCGLOBAL.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Cc: Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2012 5:15 PM Subject: Lucas Heavy Duty Stablizer Hello Volks- For the last year I have been running my stock 2.1,  which has over 200,000 miles on it,  with four quarts of Castrol 20w-50 and 3/4 of a quart of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.  Where I live it never gets below 30 degrees.  I have noticed better oil pressure on my gauge-  60 to 40 range, instead of 40 to 20 range and no lifter noises.  Anyone else have experience using this mix or an opinion that this is not a good thing to do.
