No, I have not used my van with this tank in any conditions you describe. We usually stay on the road. Rita's not one for that much adventure ! I took pictures of mine installed today and will get them posted soon to a site where you all can see them.

I am less concerned about topes and other obstacles on paved roads than I am about boulders, roots, and holes on Forest Service, BLM, and private roads where I go into spots well beyond developed camp grounds. So, If I am navigating such roads, I would not want to have to roll over a stone, into a hole, and bam, the tank hits the stone. Looks like maybe two inches difference in clearance. What do you think? Have you used the vehicle with the tank in such circumstances?

>> Dave, I thought the same but actually it's not a problem. We have just spent some five months on the road with ours, Almonte to Key West to La Manzallia, MX to Santa Cruz, CA then on to home in a few more weeks. So far no problems hitting anything with it. I thought the topes in Mexico would surly get ti but no, not a problem. It's close enough to the front wheel that it follows along quite nicely. They will become a necessity soon as most all campgrounds will require you to have a holding tank or they will not allow you in. This IS the case in Germany now for sure as we discovered last March when we were there.
