Since the A/C hoses run through the forward frame crossmember that the tank fits up against, and since the hoses run along the bottom of the van, where the tanks fits up against, they interfere with the tank sitting flush up against both of those surfaces. So, the tank must be modified to install into the space where the sink drain comes out of the bottom of the van. The hoses can't be "re-routed" because of the way they are installed INTO the frame, in the same place the tank is designed to be installed into. I like how the tank fits and functions. Since I have a friend who has the plastic welder, it was an easy mod to make to the tank. As for any loss of clearance, that is minimal as the tank sits just lower than the propane tank, and nearer the front wheel, and behind the mud flap, which protects it from wheel spray. A bunch of photo's of the tank before and after mounting, with some notes on the pics. http://www.flickr.com/photos/syncronaut/sets/72157629312427896/ bob |
