Does anyone know of a vendor who offers barrier hoses for Vanagon A/C? Or do you have to have these custom made? (Barrier hoses are used with R-134 to prevent leaks since the R-134 molecules are smaller than the R-12 molecules, hence can seep though the stock Vanagon hoses.) Barrier hoses can also be used with R-12 to contain the now expensive refrigerant. Back in the day, it was not cost-effective to use them since R-12 was so cheap. Todd '88 Westy |
