re Is it possible to put the roller bearing back together? Normally the center of the roller bearing will just slide back into the roller bearing .. even with the stub axle in place. If it doesn't ..I would suspect a buggered up outer race/carrier of the outer roller bearing. btdt. . I've been stung at least once pushing the stub axle bearing back through both bearings. What I just did the other day, on a press, worked nicely.. I pressed the stub axle through the ball bearing and through the spacer .... but didn't have the center of the roller bearing in place. When the stub axle was fully seated.. then I slid the center of the roller bearing down over the stub axle and into place. Worked like a champ. and I only use german bearings. burnt seal surface .. first thing that comes to my mind is not enough grease in the whole thing, which I see fairly commonly .
