RE: Replacing Oil Pressure Sensors on a 2.1L WBX I don't do my own 'wrenching' but often hang around my mechanics shop when he is working on my '90 Westy. So I happened to be there when he replaced both the oil pressure sensors on my rig last fall. IIRC it took him about 1/2 an hour, maybe a little more? I know it was, for him, straight forward and quick and I was back on the road. Why were they replaced? The previous day, while driving home from a VW event no less, the oil pressure light started to flicker. No relationship to engine RPM or speed. And seemed to come and go on the 30 mile trip home. So the replacement of the sensors, no problem since. |
