Yes, me too. I am not a fan...of AC, either in vehicles or in homes. My Van is cool enough without all the complexity of an AC system...though I have one in boxes that I took off the ABA motor I have in it now, if anyone want to make me an offer, it is just gathering dust in my Parts Pile......compressor, hoses pulleys and belts and a whole power steering set up, too...from a 93 Jetta, but likely adaptable to a Vanagon somehow.

I guess if I lived in a hot muggy city and had to commute an hour or two each day, 50 weeks a year to an air conditioned office and back to my air conditioned residence, I might prefer to have an automatic transmissioned AC Vanagon, but my 'basic' vanagon suits me. Even when the temps get to 100+, which they do around here for a month or so, I don't mind much. Don Hanson
