I have seen that kit, I have wonderd about removing the booster heater and
replacing it with another onboard propane tank buy just wondering how to
link both tanks together? How does it link both tanks together?

It can be done. While we do not offer a kit specifically designed to
REPLACE your onboard tank with a freestanding propane tank, we do offer a
relatively inexpensive ($89) kit that allows you to quickly attach an
external tank (either a gas grill cylinder, or with a screw-in adapter a
small 1 lb. camping stove cylinder) if your onboard tank runs out of
propane (or stops working for some reason). The same kit also allows the
use of dual onboard tanks if desired.  Plus it also includes a tee adapter
and extension hose for connecting additional propane-fueled appliances to
your Westy (either onboard or outboard). So this one $89 kit adds a whole
lot of flexibility to your LP gas setup.
