I had the same problem after swapping in an instrument cluster with a tach. I was lucky enough that my '85's wiring harness matched that of a cluster with a tach, I thought sweet! plug and play-not so, the led on the temp gauge flashed non stop. Had to swap in my old temp gauge, not easy to do because the gauge faces are shaped differently. At first I thought I'd just l live with it, after about 2 weeks that light was driving me crazy !
