FWIW, I used this stuff on my last clutch housing job:

It's really *sticky*. Given that, my guess is it will stay with the parts longer Pic of what I mean:

You can see the lube in RH end of cross shaft where it enters the blind hole. I also used this on other end and between throw out bearing and throw out bearing tube.

On my last pilot bearing (new part) I added a *little* grease. Likely not the right kind. Regardless, the added grease heated up and "spidered" out contaminating my clutch a little. (though it still works ok) I don't recommend doing this!
