Subject: Frydaye - Advice Needed re Tinted Windows and Dog
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Years ago I had the extra window tinting installed on my New Beetle - I live where it is hot and it seems to help a lot. Usually I haul my little Jack Russell mix in the Synco or my husband's GMC half ton pickup. However, I have not been able to schedule getting the Syncro's air conditioner charged (I have to also get ready for smog, so was just going to do everything at once in the next month or so). We have to go out of town this weekend, and unfortunately it will be in the 90s this weekend at the place we are heading to.

The only other vehicles we have with working air conditioners are my husband's pickup and my Beetle with the tinted windows; my question is whether my dog's nails will damage the window tinting. Obviously he will not be left alone in the vehicle (too hot), but being a happy Jack Russell type he jumps around a lot and likes to jump in our lap and look out the windows, and I would rather not have the tinting damaged.

We could take the GMC, but will have to stop somewhere and get my husband's low profile tire fixed as we are running the spare right now and therefore don't have a spare. The GMC also has an awful ride - you feel every bump, but it isn't that big of a deal, just annoying (I am in California and most California roads are in horrible shape).

I am also contemplating tinting the Syncro's windows so the same question applies; would his jumping around damage the tinting?

Do I worry too much or what?

Happy Friday, Donna (87 Syncro)
