The Vanco is a well-built long life tire. I have seen problems with tread separation-ride disturbance. It is not particularly good in wet weather is not an all season tire. In many states a "snow emergency" means at least all season (M+S) tires are required. For those on a budget http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Altimax+R T&partnum=07TR4AMAXRTXL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes is the tire I recommend.

Re: I run stock sized steel wheels... For tires, the best I've found, so far...I use the Hankook RA0 8 on the front and Nokian Hakkapellita C on the rear...both in 185-14c size. (Don)

Any comments on Continental Vanco in 185-14D (tirerack has)?
