I don’t think I'm reving that high. I know I don’t have a tach but it really feels like it's cutting out sooner than it should.

Thanks, Bryan

The engine should cut out ~5,200 to 5,400 rpms and you can easily reach that in 2nd gear. This is a great exercise to pound out those main bearings and the case around them.

The van has been running very well the last few months after all that tinkering. City gas mileage is still not where I’d like it but I ‘m going to check the highway mileage next week. Anyway, I have this persistent problem. If I accelerate to really high RPMS, like in 2nd gear, I get to a point where the engine just cuts out like a switch. This is 100% reproducible as it does it all the time and the engine runs fine otherwise. I don’t have a tach so I could not tell you how high the RPMs are. I do have a big clock so I could tell you what time it was, except in the winter.

Any suggestions? I have an ‘83.5 WC.

Thanks, Bryan
