I think you guys are right. Looks like it was hitting the limit. OK, I feel pretty stupid. Sorry, I've had the van for 14 years and have never hit the limit. I guess I was just trying to keep up with rush hour traffic.

OK, so what you are saying is that my van has no problems at the moment except a broken AC? I'm going to guy buy a scratch off ticket so I can get the Big Brake Kit next. :)

You should have hash marks on your speedo (not the spandex one) indicating when to shift. Otherwise, 2nd gear near redline is indicated 38 mph in my '84 Westy.
