As far as Vanagon problems go, this in pretty minor but it bugs me just the same. On my '85 Weekender auto, the lights in the PRNDL indicator keep falling out. It's a pain getting that "box" out, and even a bigger one getting it back in. I stick the bulb holders into the holes and twist and pull and they are locked in place. Sometimes one will fall out just trying to get it back in place, but even if both stay in place within a couple of weeks both fall out again. Again, pretty minor issue! I'm tempted to glue them in, in which case one or both bulbs will then burn out.
