I am travelling out on the I 90/I 80 route and would like to say hello to a few of you folks. I will be meeting my lovely wife (she's flying in as I have more time off than her) in San Fran on June 8th to go do Yosmite and Yellowstone, and while we have an aggressive schedule for that time, I am leaving early enough to enjoy the ride out and taking my time on the ride back after dropping her off for a flight home from Denver.

Anyone close to my route out and who would like to say 'hi' and/or see the configuration of FAS's new I4 VW engine let me know! If I can fit it in I would love to meet ya. I would like to also know if anyone is aware of any roadside attractions (giant ketchup bottle, huge ball of aluminum foil, etc.) on my route. I could look it up, but have found first hand experience from list members is better than any internet search or guide book.

I am also looking for favorite recipes that do not require much work or much use of the stove for the nights I gorilla/Walmart camp or in bear country when rainy nights dictate cooking in the camper. Anyone ever had trouble with wildlife and food in a Westy? Is the use of a bear box a good idea? What about items in the fridge?

Thanks;

Dave B.

84.5 WBX Westy

87 FAS I4 Westy (the one I'll be in)
