got it... so if the ecu is not grounding the fuel pump correctly i would not get any fuel pump if i bridge the power relay. so if all grounds are good on ecu which they are this would indicate a bad ecu then?sorry for the confusion.jess --- On Wed, 4/25/12, David Beierl <dbeierl@attglobal.net> wrote: From: David Beierl <dbeierl@attglobal.net> Subject: Re: more information on engine swap/fuel pump woes To: "jesse and monica johnson" <fowvaydriver@YAHOO.COM> Cc: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 11:04 AM At 08:55 AM 4/25/2012, jesse and monica johnson wrote: > Should this not kick the fuel pump on regardless of the ecu being good or bad? Or am i mistaken in this assumption? Jesse, as Scott (?) and I have said, the ECU drives the fuel pump relay. It does not come direct from the ECU power relay. This has to be so that the ECU can shut down the fuel pump in the event of an accident. Yours, David |
