I'd suggest pulling the grill so you can check the connectors on each of your lights, hi and lo beams. With a history of ground problems, those may have been damaged, and the current running directly to your lights now, with improved power route from battery, and grounds may have finished those connectors off.

I've had to replace those on my rig since adding relays, and I cut the ground wires at the lights and ran the grounds directly to the "firewall" directly behind the lights. Shorter and freshre is better.
